Mission Statement

It is our mission to enhance the quality of life in our community through the educational enrichment of students, teachers and the leadership of the Darlington County School District by the development and application of donated resources.

About the Darlington County Education Foundation

• The DCEF was founded in 1998 by a group of Darlington County parents and business and community leaders determined to provide support for and increase public recognition for the jobs our teachers do in the classrooms every day. The DCEF created and distributed "Making a Difference" awards to honor teachers and staff in the public who went above and beyond his/her normal duties to make a difference in a child's life.
• We believe the best teachers make the biggest differences. Think back to the one teacher who made a difference in your life. We would like every child to have that teacher.
• We have a "Three R's" approach to ensuring educator quality in our public schools:
  • Recruitment
  • Retention
    and
  • Rejuvenation
• Our Board includes teachers, parents and school administrators as well as business and community representation to make certain that our plan is sound and will be effective.
